I hadn't worn a watch in years due to my vocation as a finish carpenter/cabinetmaker. When I needed to know the time, I grabbed my cellphone out of its protective leather case. Now that I'm basically retired, a watch is safe on my wrist!

I wanted to get a chronograph that would allow me to get precise time information for the sailing I am doing, and this Stuhrling Phoenix does that and looks good doing it. Not having worn a wristwatch in a while, I was concerned that it would be uncomfortable but the silicon rubber band is exceptionally comfortable. I was pleased to find such a watch in the 42mm diameter, as the 5xmm and up diameters are simply too large for practicality: I want to wear the watch, not have the watch wear me!

An excellent example of Swiss precision craftsmanship. I recommend it without reservation.

Magnificent watch. Looks way, way more expensive than 130 bucks. I actually got it on a special for around 90 or so. It's substantial so if you have skinny little wrists I'd stay away. Now, it's surprisingly light for a watch this size and I'm wondering as to it's durability. The band, is very very light and that is a little scary. This isn't titanium after all. But, we'll see. It sure is a pretty little beast.
My concerns are the crystal (what the heck is krystina anyway???) because I'm tough on crystals. And overall durability. So, here's the deal, if you don't hear back from me, then I didn't have a problem. If I have any issues, I promise a follow up post. I can definitely say I'm impressed.

One word of caution: I do not think this watch is MADE is switzerland. I think it's made is china. If you look at the words they use "swiss quartz" "swiss owned factory". It never says ( I think anyway) "Swiss Made". The watch itself says "Swiss Quartz", not swiss made, but I can't find a "made in" mark anywhere actually. So, take it for what it's worth.

It is a nice watch. The face isn't TOO big, like most watches you order online. It fits very well. Teh only complaint i have is the band isn't the highest quality. I have several nice watches and the leather band on this one leaves room for improvement.

I liked the idea of a blue band, but and now thinking about replacing it. It looks almost aligator skin and kind of like it was made for a preacher in a flashy suit and aligator shoes. Nonetheless, It is sharp and I have gotten several compliments on it.

I LOVE Hublot's Big Bang design. I have been in love with it since I first saw it on the magazine. Very disappointed when I found out that Hublot is actually a expensive brand and it cost the same (or more) than, now my second favorite design, Daytona by Rolex.

I was thrilled when I found out this watch... comes closest to the Big Bang's design. Bought it with one day shipping in a heart beat.

Sob, sob...

If your wrist is small, don't consider this (I'm 5.9 tall and relatively girly wirst). The face is just too big (check out the spec on the case diameter). It just is not porpotional to my wrist, killing any aesthetic. If the diameter was, say around 40~43 mm, it might actually be looking good... sob, sob...

So think of a porpotion (of your wrist v.s. case diameter).
If you have a big wrist, I guess It might look good on you.

Nevertheless, looking at the small details...it still is far from Big Bang.

Nothing much to say in regards to functionality, durability etc...
I will update on that later since I just got it today and adjusted the band to my wrist size.

I've checked out the actual Hublot Big Bang.
Big Bang is same size, but actually looks bigger!
Of course, design is fantastic and more sophisticated then this watch, but...not worth paying 10ks of dollars for a rubber strap watch.

Stuhrling watch is actually good as a watch, but I guess my only complain now is, it looks cheap (maybe I guess with my rose gold color). It just looks cheap...

The watch is just as lovely as pictured on its add. I read the previous reviews and was thankful I was not swayed by reports of a difficult band clasp. In fact, I love the watch band. There is very little time required to establish the band into a "fixed" position. The design then allows for easy on/off without compromising the leather band. My watch never slips around my wrist as a result. The crystal face of the watch is also substantial. I'm usually hard on watches and haven't gotten a stratch yet. I needed something to replace my old cheap black watch and decided to take a chance on this Stuhrling. I am SO glad I did. It is big, but I like substantial watches and this was exactly what I wanted. It was billed on another website as a ladies' watch, and amazon doesn't seem to specify. However, I think it must be a mens or watch, as my wrist is not particularly tiny and I have to wear it on one of the two smallest/tightest strap holes. The numbers and hands glow in the dark, which I love. With the second hand and date function, it has everything I need. I wasn't sure about what the crystal would look like based on the item description, but it just has a nice curvature. It isn't big or domed like I thought it might be. I've tried to add better pictures of the crystal and the side view.

It looks like a really expensive watch, but the price is infinitely more reasonable than plenty of others I looked at. Overall I am quite pleased.
